# How to Get Started on Clovis Testnet

Clovis is designed to act as a cross-chain hub for assets, helping position liquidity across supported networks so funds can access the strongest opportunities without manual bridging.

Instead of moving funds between chains yourself, Clovis vaults demonstrate how liquidity can flow across networks over time. For example, opportunities for an asset may shift from one chain to another, and vault funds can be positioned accordingly.

Because of this design, assets may not always remain on the original chain you deposited from. When withdrawing, you can choose to withdraw on the chain where your assets currently reside, select a different supported destination chain, or bridge assets manually if you prefer.

This guide walks you through the steps to start using Clovis, from connecting your wallet to depositing, managing positions, and bridging assets.

By the end, you’ll have testnet assets and be able to explore Clovis features across supported chains.

💡 This process only takes a few minutes and uses testnet assets.

## 1. Connect Your Wallet

Open [Clovis testnet](https://testnet.clovis.network/) and connect a supported wallet.

* **Recommended:** OKX, MetaMask, or Rabby Wallet (auto-detects tokens and provides a smoother testnet experience)

## 2. Get Testnet Gas and Stables

Before interacting with Clovis, you will need testnet gas and stablecoins.

Refer to the Faucet guide for step-by-step instructions:

## 3. Deposit Into a Vault

Vaults allow you to deposit stablecoins to demonstrate earning yield and test how funds move within Clovis.

<figure><img src="/files/yU4TDgirCoXFG8pFMlpK" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

1. Navigate to the vault page
2. Select a supported stablecoin
3. Enter the deposit amount
4. Approve and confirm the transaction

<figure><img src="/files/szHWPku4y42ObF97wzO1" alt="" width="353"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After depositing, you receive yield-bearing `cloToken` shares that represent your position.

You can view and manage your position in the **Portfolio** tab. The Portfolio shows your active positions, cloToken shares, yield information, and the current location of the underlying assets.

A position can optionally be locked to earn a Lock Reward. The Base yield continues to be reflected in the cloToken share price.

### Position Lifecycle

A typical vault position follows this flow:

Deposit → Lock (optional) → Unlock or Early Exit → Withdraw

Unlock or Early Exit returns the cloToken shares to the Flexible position. Withdraw is a separate step that converts the cloToken shares into the underlying USDC or USDT and sends it to your wallet.

## 4. Bridge from Another Chain (Optional)

If your assets are on another supported chain, you can use the bridge to move them before depositing.

Bridging lets you demonstrate how Clovis moves liquidity across supported networks and understand cross-chain asset movement within vault strategies.

<figure><img src="/files/LfuaOO0ZBnb2O69jFyMa" alt="" width="539"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

1. Navigate to the **Bridge** page
2. Select source and destination chain
3. Enter the amount
4. Approve and confirm the transaction

You can track the status of your bridge in the **Transaction** tab, which shows history, timestamps, and status updates.

## 5. Borrow Against Your Position (Optional)

Borrowing lets you access liquidity without withdrawing your vault position, so the underlying assets keep earning Base yield while the position is used as collateral.

<figure><img src="/files/arODE7c41DD9hLY7VOpw" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Before borrowing, make sure you have an active vault position and testnet gas on the chain you want to borrow on.

1. Navigate to the **Borrow** page
2. Select the chain and supply your collateral
3. Enter the amount you wish to borrow
4. Approve and confirm the transaction

<figure><img src="/files/facmAFFcWIfxmmqHBY3B" alt="" width="353"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Your borrow position, collateral, and available borrowing power appear in the **Portfolio** tab.

### Repaying

<figure><img src="/files/0583b1c8IZ5Vj2jmetfU" alt="" width="310"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

1. Navigate to the **Borrow** page and open your position
2. Enter the repay amount
3. Approve and confirm the transaction

Collateral becomes available to withdraw once the outstanding borrow is fully repaid.

## 6. Check Your Portfolio

After depositing, you can monitor your positions in the **Portfolio** tab.

The Portfolio page displays all active positions associated with your wallet.

You can use this page to:

* View and manage your earn and borrow positions
* Monitor cloToken shares and yield information
* Track where the underlying assets are currently located across supported chains
* Unlock a position after maturity or use Early Exit before maturity
* Withdraw the underlying asset after the cloToken shares have been returned to the Flexible position

## FAQ

#### Do I Need Real Funds to Test Clovis?

No. Clovis uses testnet assets that have no real value.

#### Does Unlock Send the Underlying Asset Directly to My Wallet?

No. Unlocking returns the cloToken shares to the Flexible position. You must complete a separate Withdraw step to redeem the underlying USDC or USDT to your wallet.

#### Why Can't I Borrow?

This is usually caused by:

* No active collateral position
* Collateral not yet supplied or approved
* Borrow amount above your available borrowing power
* Missing testnet gas for the transaction
* Wallet connected to the wrong network

Supply and approve collateral first, then check your available borrowing power on the Borrow page before entering an amount.

#### What Happens if My Collateral Value Drops?

Your position health factor decreases as collateral value falls or as your borrow accrues. If it drops below the liquidation threshold, part of your collateral can be liquidated to repay the outstanding borrow.

To reduce the risk, you can:

* Supply additional collateral
* Repay part of the borrowed amount

You can monitor your health factor in the **Portfolio** tab.

#### **Why Can’t I Withdraw My Underlying Asset?**

This is usually caused by:

* Your position is still locked
* The cloToken shares have not yet been returned to the Flexible position
* Missing testnet gas for the transaction
* Your wallet is connected to the wrong network
* A temporary network or transaction delay

If the position was locked, first use Unlock after maturity or Early Exit before maturity. Confirm that the cloToken shares appear in the Flexible position, then use Withdraw to redeem the underlying USDC or USDT to your wallet.

#### What Happens When I Use Early Exit?

On the current testnet, Early Exit has a 0% fee. However, the Lock Reward is forfeited. The principal and Base yield reflected in the cloToken share price are not deducted.

After Early Exit, the cloToken shares are returned to the Flexible position. You can then use Withdraw to redeem the underlying asset.

#### Why Can’t I Deposit Into a Vault?

This is usually caused by:

* Missing testnet gas for the transaction
* Insufficient stablecoin balance
* Token approval not completed
* Wallet connected to the wrong network

Make sure you have claimed testnet stables and approved the token before depositing.

#### Why Can’t I Bridge Assets?

Bridge issues may occur due to:

* Missing testnet gas on the source chain
* Wallet connected to the wrong source or destination network
* Insufficient token balance
* Temporary bridge congestion or delays

You can check the **Transaction** tab to track bridge status and progress.

#### How Long Do Deposits or Bridges Take?

Most transactions should complete within seconds to a few minutes, depending on network conditions.

#### Where Should I Report Bugs?

If you believe you found a product bug, please use the **Send Feedback** button located at the bottom right of the page.
