# Borrow Limits

Understand Clovis Borrow limits, including Max LTV, warning levels, LLTV, position health, and liquidation risk.

Limits depend on the selected market. Review its current parameters and your position’s health in the app.

### Single-Collateral Markets

Single-collateral markets use one accepted collateral asset to support one borrowed asset.

#### LTV

Loan-to-value, or **LTV**, is the current debt value divided by the collateral value.

LTV can increase when debt grows or collateral value falls. Repaying debt or adding collateral can reduce it.

#### Max LTV

**Max LTV** is the borrowing limit applied when opening or adjusting a position through the app.

It is different from the liquidation threshold. Reaching the maximum borrowing amount can leave less room for changes in collateral value or accrued interest.

#### LLTV

Liquidation loan-to-value, or **LLTV**, is the market’s liquidation threshold.

A position can become eligible for liquidation when its LTV reaches or exceeds the market’s LLTV.

#### Warning Level

Where the app displays a warning level, reaching it triggers a risk warning and may require acknowledgment before continuing.

The warning level does not itself trigger liquidation. Review the resulting position health rather than treating acknowledgment as protection against liquidation.

### Multi-Collateral Markets

Multi-collateral markets combine up to three accepted collateral assets to support one borrowed asset.

Each collateral has its own borrowing and liquidation parameters. The app calculates the position’s borrowing capacity and Health Factor from the collateral mix and debt.

#### Health Factor

**Health Factor** indicates whether the position’s collateral provides sufficient coverage for its debt under the market’s rules.

Keep Health Factor above 1. A position below 1 may be liquidated.

The prices and values of all collateral assets in the position affect its health. One asset’s liquidation price does not describe the risk of the entire position.

#### Collateral Parameters

Review each collateral asset’s LTV and LLTV in the selected market.

Do not apply the highest displayed LTV to the entire position. Different assets contribute differently to borrowing capacity and liquidation protection.

The USDC and USDT markets have separate collateral lists and parameters. Do not assume their limits are identical.

### What Changes Borrowing Capacity?

The amount available to borrow can depend on:

* collateral amounts and values;
* the selected collateral mix;
* existing debt and accrued interest;
* market risk parameters;
* available liquidity;
* borrowing caps; and
* route or destination availability.

The maximum amount shown by the app is the amount currently permitted under these conditions. It is not a guarantee that borrowing that amount will remain safe.

### What Changes Position Health?

Position health can change because of:

* collateral price movements;
* changes in Vault share values;
* accrued interest;
* oracle updates;
* additional borrowing;
* collateral withdrawals; and
* changes to applicable market parameters.

Eligible collateral can continue earning Vault yield, but that does not prevent liquidation.

### Before Changing a Position

Review the resulting LTV or Health Factor before borrowing more or withdrawing collateral.

If the app blocks an action, check the displayed reason. You may need to reduce the amount, repay debt, or add accepted collateral.

Collateral in another market does not improve the health of this position.
